The first leaves of fall crunch against the ground, and the shelves  in stores are filled to the brim with candy corn. It`s only a matter of time before we’re asking ourselves: How soon can I buy a Pumpkin Spice Latte? In the summer, we swim. In the spring, we go on picnics. The winter is for family time. But this fall, instead of drinking 420 calories every day, it might be a nice idea to redirect that energy to more hands-on and creative activities.

1.) “Jack-O-Lantern” Soda

Salary Canary suggests that to enjoy this carbonated cutie, simply take off the label of orange soda, and tie a green ribbon on the bottle`s top. For an extra “Jack O Lantern” effect, draw a face with a black sharpie on the bottle’s handle.

 2.) Witch Brooms

With a bag of pretzel sticks and mini Reeses Cups, create a wizardly snack. Carefully insert  a pretzel stick in an upside down Reeses cup and carefully place on a tray.

3.) Indoor Jack-O-Lanterns

With an empty Mason jar, place a colored battery-powered candle and draw on the face of your choice. (Pinterest)

4.) Paper mache Bowls

Using a paper mache kit, DIY blogger Renee Parker (Created by Renee) recommends turning the leaves in your backyard into a seasonal keyholder.

5.) Painted Acorns

Using acrylic paint in an array of colors, blogger Beth of “Home Stories A to Z” suggests that you can turn all those backyard acorns into a buffet table decoration.

6.) Dried Apple “shrunken heads”

Bake half an apple and mold into desired size. Place googly eyes and pop it on on a stick, and you have a delicious treat. Witchcraft style!(Pinterest)

7.)  Spooky Zombie Dolls

Since most high school girls don’t exactly play with Polly Pocket dolls, recycle them into a thrilling playtime toy. Spray paint with a light coat of silver, color the eyes with a ghostly white  and wrap with ragged cloths. (Pinterest)

8.) DIY head-in-a-jar

For an interesting centerpiece, photoshop a stretched picture of a face and protect it with a  layer of lamination. Afterwards, place in a large Mason jar with the colored water of your choice. (DIY Network)

9.) Eyeball Flowers

If you’re fortunate enough to have an anniversary on Halloween, put a interesting spin on a romantic gesture by placing a fake eyeball in any faux flower. Place in different direction for an eerie feel. (Pinterest)

10.) Mummy wrapped bacon hotdog

And if you miss your summer diet of hotdogs and hamburgers, bring those  old traditions back to life this season by cutting a raw hotdog in thirds. Drizzle with mozzarella cheese and bake to perfection.  (Pillsbury)
